Ardell False Lashes on eBay – Cheap as chips!

Afternoon girlfriends! Just a quick heads up of this bargain seller on eBay. My stock of false lashes were decreasing rapidly, I had a little temper tantrum on Christmas Eve too because I couldn’t get them to go on right, ruined two pairs by ripping them off and starting war paint all over again!

Anyway, I have a big night out next Friday and will be doing my Sister and Sister in laws make up for the evening. I know they will want to raid my stash of lashes for the night. I searched on eBay for Ardell lashes and THIS seller came up trumps.

They were £2.49 a pair with free delivery. They don’t come with glue but I have loads of the stuff at home and a massive Duo glue that I got from MAC duty free.

The full range that the seller have on offer are styles:- 101, 102, 103, 105, 107, 109, 110, 111, 114, 115, 116, 120, 124, 125, 131. I chose 102, 105 and 120s. I’ve already had the 105’s, they are so comfortable! The styles I’ve chosen all come with a very thin band which you apply the glue to, I don’t get on very well with the thick kind.

I ordered these lashes on Wednesday afternoon and they arrived this morning so quite quick delivery too.

Below I have style 120 just resting on the top of my own lashes just so you can see what they look like. I can’t wait to wear these out.

I’m so pleased I found this seller, Ardell lashes sell in Boots for £5.10 which of course you get the glue with but if you’re anything like me you will have a few of those little glue vials laying about to use with these! So what do you think? Bargain or what!

Hope you have a fab weekend lovelies!

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara

Hey girlies, I picked this mascara up a few weeks ago and I have to say I am quite impressed. I used to be a big fan of this type of brush and Max Factor Stretch was my favourite mascara before False Lash Effect which is of the plastic kind.

I love the formula of this mascara it’s not too wet that it makes my lashes look like spider legs, which on me I really don’t like. It separates my lashes and builds at the roots making them look long and full.

A problem I have with mascara is the fall out I have towards the end of the day, about 3pm onwards I have little black bits just below my eyes, sort of on top of my cheeks. My beloved MF False Lash Effect does this too just not as much. The Revlon mascara has minimal fallout like my MF one. The only mascara that I have found to have no fall out (on me) was a Dior one I picked up in New York 18 months ago. It was so tough to get off too! It will be mine again one day!

Revlon on top, MF False Lash Effect on bottom

If you don’t like the big brush then this won’t be for you, as you can see from my pic the brush on the Revlon mascara is bigger than my Max Factor, at first it was a little tricky to work with but now, I love it and have been reaching for it over my Max Factor.

I realise I should branch out a bit and try different mascaras, I really like this mascara. I will always have a back up Max Factor though, it’s just the way it goes!

Have any of you tried this mascara? Are you a fan too?

Max Factor Freebie with a quick EOTD

Hey girlies, sorry for my lack of posts, I am on my hols right now so having a little break from blogging everyday. Darren ♥ and I popped into our local town on Thursday mainly because we wanted to pick up a couple of films and I wanted to have a quick look around Boots and Superdrug. I saw nothing in Boots that I wanted, I was after a new Max Factor Mascara and they had sold out. They had a deal on ‘3 for 2’ across all make up brands. I went into Superdrug and Max Factor had a deal on buy certain MF products and get their Smoky Eye Effect eyeshadow worth £7.99 absolutely free.

Swatched on their own they remind me of All that Glitters and Twinks by MAC so I carried out a little EOTD using my new MF product and the MAC eyeshadows All that Glitters and Twinks. I really liked the results, I think this product from MF would be really good as a base for eyeshadows however on it’s own it’s a little here nor there. I applied them straight from the tube itself but found it needed blending, so i used a MAC 217. Then I applied All that Glitters ontop of the palest colour and Twinks ontop of the darkest colour, after I had done this I really liked the outcome.

I picked up the nudey looking shade, it was called Bronze Haze. I picked this colour mainly because the blue, green and purple shades didn’t really appeal to me. When I got this product home I realised I had more than enough eyeshadow in the exact same colour. I really need to step outside my comfort zone and try different colours.

Have any of you managed to pick one of these up? What do you think of them?

Maybelline One by One Mascara

Hey dolls, I bought this mascara about 2 weeks ago after seeing the advert in Stylist magazine, I love Stylist, it comes out every Tuesday and has some great features in there usually more on the make up and beauty side of things which is perfect for a make up whore like moi! Lol

Ok, I’ll put it out there, it’s good but it doesn’t beat my beloved Max Factor False Lash Effect. The separation and length it gives is amazing though, so much better than the awful (in my opinion) Rimmel Accelerator. I quite liked the packaging, the brush came separate to the actual tube, I suppose so you could see exactly what you were buying. The tube itself had a kind of stopper thing on it; I thought this was quite a good idea.

The advert in the paper claims up to 3 bristles per lash 1; it catches 2; coats and 3; de-clumps. It definitely catches and coats but I found it dried quite quickly. This still doesn’t put me off though, I’m a bit of a Linford Christie with mascara now!

As you can see from this last picture the problem I have with mascara is my bottom lashes, maybe because they’re quite long they catch my skin and this happens. Sometimes it's worse than this picture. This even happens with my False Lash Effect. I know Sam and Nic from Pixiwoo are raving about this new Clinqiue mascara for bottom lashes. It has a tiny brush but is specifically for the bottom, Sam loves it. It might be worth a try!

I picked this up too, I can't be without one of these, I ♥ it!

All in all I think this is a really good mascara, I bought this from Boots for the introductory price of £6.49, a saving of £2.

Have any of you tried this mascara? What’s your verdict? Let me know in the comments

Clinque High Lengths Mascara

Hey dolls, a while back I posted about a free Clinique mascara you could pick up in Debenhams, all you had to do was take in one of your old mascaras for the ‘swap’. There were 2 choices either the High Impact mascara or the High Lengths mascara.

High Lengths mascara, Barry M Dazzle Dust in #39, NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk on waterline

I wanted the High Impact because I’m a fan of the big brush! Well Debenhams on Oxford Street didn’t have any left so had to settle for the High Lengths, I took along 3 empty mascaras with me but they would only swap one per person. I was a little bit dubious about this mascara because of the wand but I have to say I actually liked it! The wand took a little bit of getting using to and compared to my Max Factor False Lash effect this brush is so thin. I’ve found that you have to work quick with it as it dries in record time. It separated my lashes nicely and gave enough volume to them.

All in all I’m very pleased with this, I would never have chosen it but I would definitely buy it for a treat! I also noticed that after a long day in the office I didn’t have any little black bits under my eyes which is always a bonus!

This offer was on between 17th-30th January and has now finished.

Have any of you tried High Lengths mascara?

Image from Google Images

It runs from 17th-30th January, I’m stocking up, may even buy some mascara’s from the pound shop to trade in with. I'll have enough supplies till next Christmas! lol

MUFE - Smoky Lash

Hey ladies, I’ve had this mascara for well over a month but have only just started using it this past week as I wanted to use up my current Max Factor, I’m terrible at starting a new product because I’m so excited to have it then letting the one I was using go all dry and basically just wasting money!

This is the Smoky Lash from Make Up For Ever, it is fast overtaking my Max Factor False Lash Effect as my favourite. It is quite honestly the blackest mascara, even my Sister ♥ picked up on how black it was.

I bought this from the Guru Makeup Emporium for £17.50 which isn’t cheap but it’s so worth the money, it’s right up there with my Dior Show mascara for the high end brands. This mascara adds volume and lengthens my lashes, which is exactly what I want from it. This also came with a cute bottle of Sensi Eyes, a sensitive eye make up remover.

I'm wearing UDPP as a base, MAC e/s All That Glitters and Twinks, MUFE Smoky Lash

Please excuse my eyebrows, they need threading badly!

I am truly loving this mascara at the minute and really don't want it to end! It might have to be a permanent fixture in HQ's make up bag!

Have any of you tried Smoky Lash? Do you love it too?

30 Day Rimmel Accelerator Challenge = Done!

Afternoon my beauts! As promised today is 30 days since the start of project Rimmel. Now at first I hated this mascara. I hated the way it separated my lashes and kinda bunched them together at the same time, almost like spider legs, they made my lashes look less full. That's really not what I look for in a mascara! 3 weeks into the project and it wasn’t that bad.

I like my lashes to look thick and full with loads of volume. With this mascara as the weeks wore on the consistency changed, it became a bit thicker and I'm not saying this is miracle stuff because from the before and after pictures I don't think my lashes look that different, do you? To me this mascara was everything I hated, the wand felt like it would snap at any moment and it felt cheap. I've had alot of people say that I looked tired this past month and I think Rimmel Accelerator is to blame! Max Factor Mascara really does make the most of my lashes, so sorry Rimmel but you can keep ya Accelerator!

At the start of project Rimmel
 After

Today I bought MUFE Smoky Lash!! *happy dance*.Sam and Nic (Pixiwoo) rave about this mascara so I thought I would give it a go, look out for the post in the very near future. I will do some more make-up posts soon, I enjoyed myself immensely with my Storm palette the other night. Even if I did look like one of the band members from Kiss! ;p

I have my sister ♥ staying with me tonight (Faye I know you’re reading this), maybe I can persuade her to let me do her make-up and post it on here? Hee hee!

Do you think my lashes have grown? They look slightly different on the inner corner but I don't know if they look longer.

Have a great weekend my hunnies!

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara - 30 day Challenge

Hey girlies, I bought this mascara yesterday, I saw it in Closer magazine and thought I would review it. I don’t think I’ve bought a Rimmel mascara for aaaaages! I’m a fan of the big brush ie False Lash Effect by Max Factor, but for the next 30 days I will be using this everyday to see if it really does do what it says on the tin!

As the advert says the Accelerator mascara has grow-lash complex in it, with advanced ultra-lengthening formula, the lashes appear up to 80% longer instantly, lashes also appear up to 117% longer after 30 days. 117%??? WOW! Now I’m lucky that my eyelashes are quite long already, if this mascara makes them longer by 117% I might look a bit silly! We will have to wait 30 days for the results.

As I said above I am a fan of the big mascara brushes, I find these work best for my lashes, I used the Accelerator this morning and I have to say I’m not that impressed with it so far. It has separated my lashes nicely but as the morning has gone on it looks like I don’t have much on at all, luckily I have the mascara with me to add another coat.

Acceslerator on the left, Max Factor on the right
As you can see from the picture above the wand is a lot thinner than the False Lash Effect and feels a little ‘wobbly’. My first impressions I would say this mascara is ok if you’re after a more natural look. I, on the other hand, like my lashes to look full, thick and have loads of volume, I find this mascara slightly lacking in those important factors. I will carry on using for 30 days to see if they do look any longer. Keep your eyes peeled for the follow up post!

I bought the Accelerator from Boots for the introductory price of £6.99, this will be £8.99 after 6th October 2010.

Have a good weekend lovelies, I'm away this weekend with Darren ♥ but look forward to reading your comments/blogs on Monday

♥ Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara ♥

Afternoon ladies! I thought I would share my thoughts on this mascara. I have been a fan of Max Factor Mascara for over 14 years. I started off using S-T-R-E-T-C-H, then calorie 2000, at the time I was at College and a poor student, Max Factor was expensive to me then. So I used to buy them off Ebay for cheaper, but I soon noticed that although the auction stated they were brand new, sealed and everything, which they were. Inside they were as dry as the bottom of a birdcage! So I had a little break from using MF and went onto Maybelline, I started using Stiletto, that was ok, but I’m a fan of the BIG brush. So next I tried Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara, that was good too and I stuck with that for about a year. Then I tried L’Oreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara but I found this and the Colossal both had a funny whiff about them, does anyone else agree? I could smell it all day! Anyway I have come full circle and have come back to my trusty Max Factor Mascara.

I am quite lucky that I have long eyelashes, my mum and sister both do too so it must be in the genes! Fingers crossed I get a little girl when me and Darren ♥ start for bubbas!

I don’t have any foundation on in these pics, just a little MAC MSF in medium. MAC eyeshadows in All That Glitters and Twinks, Stila eyepencil in Onyx on the top waterline and that’s it.

Apologies for my eyebrows! The macro function on my camera picks up everything!

I am a natural eyebrow lifter, my left eyebrow just lifts on its own, so my eyes look a little uneven in this picture

After this MF mascara finishes I'm going to treat myself to Big Fatty mascara by Urban Decay, I’ve heard/seen some good reviews on it on here and on You Tube.

Are any of you a Max Factor mascara fan like me? Ever tried Big Fatty by UD? I’d love to know

Have a good weekend girlies
