My……how they’ve grown! Before and After

I have to give you girlies a heads up about this nail oil I’ve been using. I bought it on eBay for £2.45, it is the sample size, so only has 3.7ml product in the little bottle but I didn’t want to waste my money on something that may or may not have worked.

Well I wasn’t expecting these kind of results! I started off by cutting my nails down to roughly the same length *kicks self for not taking a photo* then every night rub a small amount of this oil into my cuticles and gently push them back. After a few days I noticed my nails weren’t peeling or breaking so much and they were so hard and strong.

I found a photo from a previous NOTD post for comparison but here’s the before and after.

I hate nails with no polish on! Yuk!
Pretty good huh?! I’m a clumsy ol’ fool sometimes and have snapped a couple of my nails since taking that after photo, so I have cut them all down and starting them again. I hate uneven nails.

I bought this nail oil for my dry cuticles and didn’t expect much more from it so the length and strength is a bonus!

Have any of you tried nail oils? Any others you can recommend for dry cuticles?

MUA Love Heart polish mix up!

Afternoon daaaaahlings!

A few weeks back I was lucky enough to attend the MUA Love Hearts event. In my goody bag was a couple of the nail polishes, I WANT YOU (orange) and U & I (yellow) that are coming out with the launch. I already have something similar at home so knew I wouldn't get much use out of them.

I set my artistic mind to good use to see what I could do about this, I thought about swapping with someone but I don’t think anyone would want to swap with me……….so I mixed the colours I had to make my own unique colour!

China Glaze by Peachy Keen
I found a container and got to work, I poured in mostly yellow polish then a little bit of the orange, using the lid of said container to mix the colours together came up with a gorgeous peachy colour. I don’t have anything like this shade at home so I was most impressed with it. I saw a lot of hype last year about a colour by China Glaze called Peachy Keen, I think it’s not far off that colour and maybe with a few more mixing’s I could have it bang on!

If you do this mixing malarky....be quick with your painting, because it starts to dry and go a bit gloopy. I'm so happy with the shade I mixed though. Defo need some more!

Do any of you mix your nail varnishes too?

Avon Nailwear Pro – Deluxe Chocolate

Afternoon girlies! Just after Christmas the Mothership came to stay with me for a couple of days, in her bag of tricks (make up bag) she had this polish for me, it was supposed to be a little Christmas present but it didn’t turn up in time.

Deluxe Chocolate is a gorgeous warm brown colour with loads of gold in it, as with most duo chrome effect nail polishes the glitter particles don’t shown up that great in the photos but you can see it in the bottle.

I’m so impressed with this nail polish. I painted my nails on Monday night and they’re still going strong now. No chipping just a little wear on the nail tip. See photo below. I am so over the pastel shades too, love these kind of dark colours. I might just paint the tips and give them another coat of Seche Vite, see how long they last after that!

2 days still going strong =D

Avon have a big sale on at the minute and this polish is only £4 on the website or £3 from the catalogue, that's very cheap for 12mls of polish! You can buy it HERE or if you have an Avon lady local to you then snap one up, I have placed an order for Fushia Fun a gorgeous pink colour. From the website it looks like it has some of that duo chrome glittery goodness that I love!

Are any of you fans of Avon? What else am I missing out on?

NOTD - Wellington Street - Nails Inc

Hello guys and gals! There’s not that much to say about this colour, you all know how much I love my Nails Inc polishes. Faye ♥ bought this for me in a gift set a while back, I blogged about it HERE.

It’s a really pretty pink, a full on Barbie pink. So easy to wear I love it! Two coats is all it takes for it to be opaque finished off with the HG of topcoats Seche Vite!

The photo with the flash off you can see it has undertones of blue in it making it look almost purple, it’s not the true colour. It’s as bright as they come baby!

NOTD – Nails Inc, Orly and Barry M

Hello dahhhhlings! About a year ago I bought that Barry M crackle polish in black, gave it a go and hated it! I just couldn’t get it to look good, but after watching a few you tube videos and having another go I have improved.

The trick is to apply it quite thick and in one swipe if possible. I am right handed but my left hand has come out much better, I think because I don’t have the same amount of control as I do with the right.

You can just make out the sparkle in this photo, I wanted so much more!

I used Nails Inc Bennett Street as a base, I’d had this on for a couple of days so just refreshed the tips, then painted over 3 coats of Orly Rockerbilly (I think that’s what it’s called, it’s rubbed off), one coat of Barry M Crackle in black and one final coat of Seche Vite to seal it all.

It’s not perfect but definitely better than my first attempt all those months ago. The pink crackle is next on my hit list. I was a little disappointed in the Orly polish, I really wanted a sparkly holographic polish but it was a bit of a let down.

What other polish combinations should I try? I have my eye on Electric Avenue by Nails Inc next, it's a 3d holographic glitter polish type thing. I saw it over on Zoe's blog.

NOTD – Layering 2 Nails Inc polishes

Hey girlies, last week I blogged about the Nails Inc gift set my Sister ♥ bought me, you can read it here. I really liked the look of Wyndham Place in the bottle but on my nail it showed up as a berry red with a small amount of glitter in it.

I immediately saw the potential of layering it with another polish, so for this NOTD I have layered Wyndham Place and Berkeley Mews, doing this made the glitter particles come to life!

Under sunlight you can really see the sparkle and glitter, so hard to photograph!

You can just make out the glittery goodness!

A beautiful purple tone to it, perfect for the cooler chilly months

If only the photos could speak for themselves, IRL the glitter/shimmer was so much more vibrant!

Bargain Nails Inc set with swatches!

Hey girlies, my sister Faye ♥ bought me this lovely present from QVC, she knows I’m a massive fan of Nails Inc polishes but at £11 each they are quite expensive. Faye ♥ had full control of the television a few weeks ago and saw this deal was too good to miss.

This whole set was £25 with PP about £3.97, it was such a bargain. I love every colour in the set, my least favourite was the grey but after swatching on a nail it has definitely grown on me. I applied two coats of each nail polish then applied one coat of the top coat.

Wyndham Place
This is a gorgeous reddy pink with beautiful blue and pink sparkles in, this was so hard to photograph, look out for a NOTD with some layering soon!

Berkeley Mews
A beaut of a colour in some lights this looks purple but on the nail and in photographs it’s blue. Such a nice colour and I can’t wait for the cold months to wear it.

Cadogan Lane
This colour reminds me of Christmas a lovely shimmery green that applies like a dream.

Wellington Street
I thought this was going to be a nightmare and would need at least 3 coats, I would say it is a bright Barbie pink, with a white base underneath it could be even brighter. Love it!

Bennet Street
I didn’t think there was a red that could outdo my OPI Vodka and Caviar but when applied to the nail it came to life! It’s fire engine red with a coral undertone.

Tavistock Street
This was my least favourite colour out of the lot and I was a little impatient before applying my top coat, you can just make out little red marks on it from the previous nail. This colour is a dark and murky grey, after applying to the nail I think I dismissed it too early and I'm sure I will rock it somewhere!

Jermyn Street
This is my fourth bottle of this, it is one of my favourite colours a light brown taupey colour with a purple undertone. I blogged about this a long time ago click HERE.

Top Coat
Applied to each nail, not as fast drying as Seche Vite but very shiney!

Thank you Faye ♥ for buying me this beautiful set! It really is lovely

NOTD - Cross it baby!

OPI Vodka and Caviar, GOSH Holographic and red rhinestones from eBay

Really not impressed with the longevity of GOSH holographic polish, it is renowned for chipping/peeling but 2 hours after application! That just takes the biscuit!

Did we all have a nice weekend?

NOTD – Nails Inc – Sydney Street

Afternoon lovelies! Apologies for being a bit slack with the posts this week, I was away for a family ‘do at the weekend so didn’t have time to take photos/do any make up looks etc. But I am back and ready to rock again. I’m hoping to do a couple of videos too this weekend for my You Tube channel so look out for those!

Darren’s ♥ cousin Chrissy ♥ works in Nails Inc and was kind enough to give me a few polishes, first up is Sydney Street, this is a gorgeous dark purple with a shimmer through it. I wore it the weekend and had a couple of compliments on it.

I’ve looked on the Nails Inc website but can’t find this polish so I think it may have been limited edition. Sorry about that.

Can you believe how long my nails are? See what a bit of sun does to them! If only they would stay like this, since taking this photo at the weekend I have chipped 2 of them! Typical!

Do any of you own this polish? I might buy Lexington Avenue next it looks gorgeous!

OPI Vodka and Caviar - Yes please!!

Hello lovelies, just a quick post to show you what nail varnish I have been rocking at work before I went away.

Vodka and Caviar is a gorgeous blue toned red which shows up so bright in my photos with the flash on. From my pics you can see that the application might have needed 3 coats on some nails but unless you looked really close you couldn’t tell. The macro function on my camera picks up everything!

Would you believe this is the only nail varnish by OPI that I own! What others can you recommend? Please let me know in the comments below.

I’m in love with coral toned things at the minute but my Rimmel 60 seconds Coral polish (seen HERE) isn’t quite the right colour. I know OPI have one called My Chihuahua Bites, maybe when I come back from my hols I will look into this one.

♥ I'm away on my hols until 4th July but will reply to all your lovely comments on my return ♥

Holiday Nail Polishes and say Hello to my liittle friends!

Afternoon you bunch of hotties! This afternoon I give you the nail varnishes I will be taking away with me to Turkey on Sunday.

Left to right
Barry M Berry Ice Cream
Barry M Bright Pink (I don’t give this enough love!)
Nail Inc Haymarket (forgot how lovely this is)
Rimmel 60 seconds Coralicious
Nail Inc Candy Orange

Sorry about my dry cuticles *note to self, must remember cuticles*

For this cute picture I used the polishes above then Konad white for the whites of the eyes and Vendetta (♥) by Chanel for the pupils, I don’t own a black polish. I also used a dotting tool that I got off eBay.

Vendetta is another polish that I didn’t show much love last year. Look how gorgeous it looks in the bottle!

Are any of my holiday polishes in your favs too?

Flower Power vs Fried Eggs

This is my attempt at a design by Stacie over at Kawaii Nail Art, I tried it first last week using a pin, then a Kirby grip pulled apart bit it wasn’t quite working. I bought a white nail art pen from Claire’s for about £4 and that seemed to work better. I also used a cocktail stick, I’m right handed so was dreading trying to do my right hand with my left but you know what I think that hand turned out better!

I’ve had a couple of compliments at work so it’s all good. I’m on my second day wearing this design and it’s only flaking slightly on my index fingers. My nails are growing too!

This is an ugly picture! lol

I’m really getting into this nail art malarkey now. If you haven’t checked Stacie out then please do, she’s really good. Another favourite is Leanne over at Do Not Refreeze.

Not bad for a first attempt, some do look like fried eggs though!

Walton Street by Nails Inc (pink) Miss Sporty (yellow), White by Konad. Seche Vite top coat.

Accent Nails

Hey dolls, as soon as I saw this on You Tube I had to try it. I love the idea of an ‘accent colour’ for the nails. I’ve used Jermyn Street by Nails Inc as my neutral and Haymarket as my accent. I've included a daytime picture to show Haymarket isn't as vivid as it is showing in the first picture.

Haymarket is a pale matte green on my nails, I used Seche Vite as a top coat.

The colour possibilities are endless! Whip out your polishes and have a go!

Both Jermyn Street and Haymarket can be purchased HERE.

Hot Pink Nails with Flowers and Diamantes

Hey girls, I had the day off yesterday, I painted my nails and added some cute stickers and diamantes. I’m very pleased with how they came out! I might get some more rhinestones and stickers, maybe do a Christmas N.O.T.D!

Click on the pics to enlarge

For this, I used Walton Street by Nails Inc and the cute flowers and diamantes are by Kiss and available in Boots and Superdrug for £2.79. Of course I topped this design off using the amazing Seche Vite! For those of you who don't know about Seche Vite you're really missing out! I read some reviews on it, bought a sample pot from Ebay for £4, I was so impressed with it. It dries in record time! I bought the full size from Ebay for about £8, it's well worth the money.

Do you like my nail design? I'm definately rocking these for Christmas Day!
