NOTD – Nails Inc, Orly and Barry M

Hello dahhhhlings! About a year ago I bought that Barry M crackle polish in black, gave it a go and hated it! I just couldn’t get it to look good, but after watching a few you tube videos and having another go I have improved.

The trick is to apply it quite thick and in one swipe if possible. I am right handed but my left hand has come out much better, I think because I don’t have the same amount of control as I do with the right.

You can just make out the sparkle in this photo, I wanted so much more!

I used Nails Inc Bennett Street as a base, I’d had this on for a couple of days so just refreshed the tips, then painted over 3 coats of Orly Rockerbilly (I think that’s what it’s called, it’s rubbed off), one coat of Barry M Crackle in black and one final coat of Seche Vite to seal it all.

It’s not perfect but definitely better than my first attempt all those months ago. The pink crackle is next on my hit list. I was a little disappointed in the Orly polish, I really wanted a sparkly holographic polish but it was a bit of a let down.

What other polish combinations should I try? I have my eye on Electric Avenue by Nails Inc next, it's a 3d holographic glitter polish type thing. I saw it over on Zoe's blog.

Imma MAC Haulin'

Alreeeeet! Last Friday was payday for me, I looked in my purse and found that I still had £18 left over from the previous month. It meant one thing! MAC time =D

Cranberry and Amber Lights - I’ve had my eye on these eye shadows for a while now, after seeing them in a few blogposts and they’re being used heavily at the minute in Autumn/Fall make up looks on You Tube. I also fed my lipstick addiction with another lippie, I chose Lovelorn. In the store it came out a lot pinker on my hand and the product itself was hot from all the lights and I suppose constant touching/swatching.

I decided to give it it’s first outing the next day and wore it to TOWIB on the Saturday, below is my FOTD using Lovelorn, it came out quite purple on my lips, maybe the lighting had something to do with it. I love it though. Whilst having lunch in Pret on the Saturday Emma knew straight away which lippie it was, that’s my girl! Lol

The Only Way is Blogging – aka TOWIB!

Hey girlies, I missed the first TOWIB event back in July and was a little gutted that I couldn’t attend, there were some girlies that I wanted to meet, but I couldn’t miss my Grandads 80th Birthday party could I!

So this time I jumped at the chance to attend this one, this TOWIB was being held at Babble Bar in central London just a stones throw from Green Park station. So that’s where a few of us arranged to meet, there was myself (obvs) Emma, Grace, Laura and Em. Laura knew where this Babble Bar was so off we went.

I had a lovely time meeting some of the ladies who’s blogs I read on a daily basis, after so much communication through Twitter, You Tube etc it was nice to actually meet them in person. Having already met Emma at the KMS event we went to back in August it was really lovely to see her again.

Talks started within half hour of arriving at the venue then carried on throughout the day. One of our gang was suffering with a hangover (I'm saying no names!) so half way through the camera talk we skipped out to Pret for a bite to eat and a cuppa. I don’t have a super duper camera anyway so the talk was wasted on me. Zoe from The London Lipgloss and Lily from LLYMLRS were taking questions and demonstrating with their own cameras but they put my little camsera to shame! I need a new one so bad.

Vivo Cosmetics and FashionistA make up brands were there with professional MUA’s making up some of the lucky attendees. We got to choose a palette by FashionistA and a bag of make up out of three of the looks from Vivo. I have since added Karla Powell MUA on Twitter and Facebook – her work is stunning! Do check her out, she’s also starting You Tube videos soon too *happy dance*

FOTN - Half Baked

Afternoon beautiful people!

How are we? Darren ♥ and I had a long weekend both having the Friday and Monday off work, it was bliss. Went to Westfield at Stratford which is 10 minutes drive from my house, it was amazing. My car was pulled in for security checks haha, you should of have seen his face when I opened “the tip” aka the boot! However, I need to go on my own, as soon as I mentioned Primark I got that cold stare from Darren ♥, he hates that shop! I tried to coax him in going straight for the accessories but everything I picked up he said it was “toot”. He aint got a clue!

The Grand Prix was on again Sunday and I was left in peace to have a play with my make up. Since owning the Naked Palette, the e/s Half Baked has laid untouched in the pan, it was a little scary if I’m honest, I thought when would I ever wear that colour – BAM! In yo’ face Half Baked! What was I worried about, it’s a gorgeous colour and dare I say it makes the blue in my eyes pop! (Sorry I know some peeps hate that saying)

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara

Hey girlies, I picked this mascara up a few weeks ago and I have to say I am quite impressed. I used to be a big fan of this type of brush and Max Factor Stretch was my favourite mascara before False Lash Effect which is of the plastic kind.

I love the formula of this mascara it’s not too wet that it makes my lashes look like spider legs, which on me I really don’t like. It separates my lashes and builds at the roots making them look long and full.

A problem I have with mascara is the fall out I have towards the end of the day, about 3pm onwards I have little black bits just below my eyes, sort of on top of my cheeks. My beloved MF False Lash Effect does this too just not as much. The Revlon mascara has minimal fallout like my MF one. The only mascara that I have found to have no fall out (on me) was a Dior one I picked up in New York 18 months ago. It was so tough to get off too! It will be mine again one day!

If you don’t like the big brush then this won’t be for you, as you can see from my pic the brush on the Revlon mascara is bigger than my Max Factor, at first it was a little tricky to work with but now, I love it and have been reaching for it over my Max Factor.

I realise I should branch out a bit and try different mascaras, I really like this mascara. I will always have a back up Max Factor though, it’s just the way it goes!

FOTN - Autumn/Fall Look

Hey girlies, hope you all had a fab weekend, did you make the most of the gorgeous weather?

I spent Saturday morning knocking this look up and I have to say I love it! Eylure lashes number 100’s are now my favs! I usually go for lashes that extend at the outer corner but my lashes kinda do that naturally so decided to try these. I was in a bit of an eyelash rut and I’m glad I branched out! Haha

There you have it, you can just about pick up the colour of the Blue Brown pigment in the photos with no flash but with flash it just looks brown. I really wanted somewhere to go after doing this look but instead I took it off and spent the afternoon ironing! Oh the glamour! Haha

Sleek Oh So Special Palette with EOTD

Ok I’m a little bit behind with this but it has been so popular and now I know why. I had to go to a Superdrug at 7.45am to see if it was in their delivery that day! That’s how much I wanted it. I lusted over every bloggers post about it, and rightly so, I think it’s probably my favourite palette out of the lot!

It has a great mix of shimmers and mattes, after using my Storm palette for my brows for ages now I was glad to find something else to use that was slightly lighter, Boxed is the perfect brow colour for me.

For this quick EOTD I applied UDPP all over the lid, I blended Bow all over using a MAC 227, then I applied Gateau on the lid and about 2 3rds of the way over, I then applied Wrapped Up in the crease using a crease brush by Crown and blending with a MAC 217, then lightly applied Celebrate on the outer V to intensify. I used Boxed for my eyebrows. I dragged Wrapped Up under the eye with a MAC 266 brush and highlighted the inner corner with a bit more of the Gateau colour. This colour is my favourite! I lined my eye with UD 24/7 pencil in Zero. Curled lashes and applied more mascara. Voila!

Who else picked up this palette? I was thinking of getting the nude palette but haven’t heard such good things about it. I love this palette, I am seriously thinking about depotting all my Sleek palettes into one big palette so I can see what colours I have at a quick glance. Good idea huh!?
